Tujijue Project: Empowering Girls Through Knowledge and Support
Tujijue, meaning "Let’s Know Ourselves" in Kiswahili, is one of Empowerment Pathways Alliance (EPA)'s flagship initiatives focused on transforming the lives of young girls across Kenya.
The project is rooted in promoting menstrual health management, mental health support, and sexual and reproductive health education-critical areas often overlooked in many communities.
Project Launch
We proudly launched Tujijue in January 2025 in Mathare at the New Mathare Community School with an incredible turnout of young girls, community members, partners, and passionate stakeholders including YIDP, Mental 360, Kikao, Health X Africa, Zindua Initiative, Empowered Dreams Initiative, We!Masomo, KUHU & BABu.
The event included powerful conversations, distribution of dignity kits, mental health workshops, and expert-led sessions on menstrual and reproductive health.
The overwhelming support and feedback validated the urgent need for initiatives like Tujijue.
Our Vision Moving Forward
Building on the momentum of the launch, Tujijue is evolving into a national movement.
We are actively scaling the project to reach different counties across Kenya, ensuring no girl is left behind.
Our ongoing efforts will include:
- Community outreach programs and school visits
- Peer-to-peer mentorship and mental health support groups
- Distribution of dignity kits and educational materials
- Partnerships with health, education, and gender empowerment organizations
- Integration of digital tools for greater access to information
Why Tujijue Matters
Tujijue is not just about providing resources—it's about restoring dignity, confidence, and opportunity for young girls to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are committed to expanding the impact of Tujijue through collaborations, partnerships, and the unwavering belief that empowered girls create empowered communities.
